Plank fenders

Plank is our natural alternative to fenders of the ill fitting, injection-molded ilk.

We fabricate your fenders from a choice of four varieties of bamboo fiber, and waterproof them with a vegetable based penetrating oil. Our fittings are composed of stainless steel that has been machined at a shop right here in the steel city. To find out more about how we make them, head over to our page about production.

rear

Plank’s design fits into the rear brake assembly of most 700C and 26″ -based bicycle frames. We’re happy to work with the fit on your bicycle to ensure that Plank is keeping you as dry as possible, and in no way interfering with the quality of your ride. There is some natural variation in Plank, as it is a hand made product. Our typical production results in the following, please specify if you would like something in particular, in or outside of this range.

You also have two bracket bend options. The first is the “Bent Up” option, which will place the fender lower, so as to keep it clear of your cantilever or linear-pull type brakes.  This will also put the fender closer to the tire. It looks like this:

The second option is the “Bent Down” option which puts the fender up above your sidepull-type brake stack. It looks like this.

If you’re unsure, feel free to email us a (small) photograph of your particular situation, and we would, of course, be happy to advise you.
