Leslie Park Accordion Pool Party!

On Saturday, the much neglected Leslie Park Public pool had its busiest saturday since its closing five years back. The Accordion Pool Party saw a ragtag accordion ensemble playing five feet deep in the emptied pool, while those brave enough to dance did so on the peeling cement. The rest of the crowd watched from the surrounding sidewalk. The event drew a huge crowd over its four hours; hopefully the exposure will create interest in renovating and improving the facility, which still has a chance at being a fantastic public space. If they can’t afford to put water in it, it has certainly has proven itself as a viable and unique concert venue!
